基本情况介绍(Biography)
王鹏,中山大学校学术委员会委员、中山大学工学部学术委员会副主任、中山大学碳中和与绿色发展研究院创院院长、国际空气集水协会共同创会主席、国家级重大(海外)人才工程入选者,Environmental Science & Technology(ES&T)执行主编,科睿唯安2023/2025年度全球“高被引科学家” 、英国皇家化学学会会士。迄今已发表学术文章>140篇,包括Environmental Science & Technology、Nature Water、Joule、Nature Sustainability、Nature Food、Nature Communications、Science Advances, Energy & Environmental Science、J. Am. Chem. Soc.、Angewandte Chemie、Advanced Materials等权威期刊,出版英文著作3部。2009年作为首批创校者加盟沙特阿拉伯的阿卜杜拉国王科技大学(KAUST),2013到2017年间担任KAUST环境科学和工程系主任,2019到2023年间为KAUST和香港理工大学双聘。2025年获得安捷伦ACT-UR科学研究奖,2023年获得阿联酋迪拜国际水奖(The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award,3rd Cycle),在2021年被授予南京大学紫金全兴“杰出校友”奖,2020年获得苏尔坦王子国际水奖(9th)(The Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water),2020年获华人环境教授协会科研先锋奖 (CAPEES/Nanova Frontier Research Award),2022-2024年间受邀担任香港特别行政区水务署咨询委员会委员。任2024和2025年国际水创新大奖(Global Prize for Innovation in Water, GPIW)评委,2025年 3 月开始担任奖金总额高达1亿1900万美元的XPRIZE Water Scarcity评委,2025 年 5 月开始担任国际水协会(IWA) 和盖茨基金(Gates Foundation)共同组织的下一代卫生系统(NGSS) 的专家组成员。
Dr. Peng Wang is Chair Professor and Founding Director of Institute of Carbon Neutrality and Green Development at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), China. He is a member of the University Academic Council and serves as Vice Chair of the Academic Committee of the Faculty of Engineering at SYSU.
Dr. Wang is the Executive Editor of Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T). He currently serves as a judge for the XPRIZE Water Scarcity, a $119 million, five-year global competition (2025–2029) focused on advancing breakthrough innovations in seawater desalination. He is also an expert panel member of the Next Generation Sanitation Systems (NGSS) Program, jointly led by the International Water Association (IWA) and the Gates Foundation.
In 2024, Dr. Wang served as a Board Jury Member—and subsequently Head Jury—of the Global Prize for Innovation in Water (GPIW). He was the Founding Co‑President of the International Atmospheric Water Harvesting Association (IAWHA) (2024–2025). In addition, he served on the Advisory Committee on Water Supplies of the Hong Kong SAR Government from 2022 to 2024.
Dr. Wang joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, in 2009 as a founding faculty member and later served as Chair of the Environmental Science and Engineering Program from 2013 to 2017. From 2019 to 2023, he was at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University while on non-pay leave from KAUST. He returned to Sun Yat-sen University full-time in July 2023, where he now leads a large and internationally active research group.
Dr. Wang is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and was named a Clarivate ‘Highly Cited Researcher’ in 2023 and 2025. His major accolades include the Agilent ACT-UR Award (2025), the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award (3rd Cycle, 2023), the Zijin Quanxing Distinguished Alumni Award from Nanjing University (2021), the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (9th Award, 2020), and the Frontier Research Award from the Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science (CAPEES) (2020).
